Guitar / String Orchestra

Students experience the joy of playing guitar, violin, and other string instruments surrounded by peers! Fast moving and engaging activities keep students moving and learning. Students are grouped by age and experience level to enjoy improvisation classes, group music-making, mini private lessons, and more! Engaging music is arranged so that each student plays a part perfectly suited to their own ability. At the end of the week, students perform a special concert for friends and family! Please note that attendance for all days of camp is important for the success of the final performance.

Intro to Guitar

Our guitar camp for kids provides the perfect introduction to get to know the instrument along with peers! Guitars are provided free of charge, and students learn basic techniques and a few short pieces in just five days of camp. Each day is broken into classes on technique, playing on bells and drums, singing and movement, musicianship games, and music appreciation. At the end of the week, students perform for their family and friends at a special concert.

Intro to Piano

The perfect introduction to piano lessons for beginners! Students get to know the instrument, learn basic techniques, and even play a few short pieces in just five days of camp! Each day is broken down into classes on technique, playing on bells and piano, singing and movement, musicianship games, and music appreciation. At the end of the week, students perform what they’ve learned for their family and friends as part of a final concert.

Intro to Ukulele

Whether you’re picking up a ukulele for the first time or looking to strengthen your basic skills, this camp is perfect for you! Campers learn the fundamentals of playing the ukulele, including how to hold, tune, and strum the instrument. Together, we explore fun techniques such as fingerpicking and chord transitions. Students also discover how to read simple sheet music and chord charts as we master simple chords and melodies. Plus, take part in a fun performance on the final day to showcase what you've learned! Our experienced instructors create a welcoming, supportive environment where campers express themselves through music and make new friends. This camp will give you the skills and confidence to start your ukulele journey! No previous musical experience is necessary. Ukuleles are required but not provided. Our staff will be happy to assist you in finding a ukulele to purchase. Come strum, sing, and have a blast with us this summer!

Intro to Violin

The perfect camp for aspiring violinists! In our violin summer camp, students are provided with a violin and learn all about making music in a fun, low-pressure setting with their peers. Campers are grouped by age and ability so that they can quickly learn basic technique and music theory suited to their skill levels. Each day includes different activities such as playing on bells and drums, singing and movement, music theory games, music appreciation, and, of course, playing on the violin! At the end of camp, students perform for their family and friends in an awesome concert!

Move the Music

Come sing, dance, move, and create in our fun-filled Move the Music summer camp! This is the perfect camp for kids to explore their love of music while staying active and engaged. Together, students make new friends while fostering their musical development, expression, and creativity! World Beat Adventures

Welcome to World Beat Adventures, where every day is a musical journey around the globe! Campers embark on an exciting expedition, discovering the vibrant sounds and rhythms of Türkiye, Ghana, and Brazil. Through hands-on music activities, dynamic drumming sessions, and engaging cultural storytelling, students explore the diverse world of music while developing essential musical skills such as beat, rhythm, and the unique notes of each country. Each day promises a new adventure filled with creativity and fun! At Orpheus Academy, we believe that music is a universal language that connects us all, which is why we have always valued learning music from around the world. Campers learn to play traditional instruments, such as the qanun from Türkiye, the djembe from Ghana, and the cuíca from Brazil, while also participating in fun games and instrument building inspired by each culture. With passionate instructors guiding the way, children not only unlock their musical talents but also gain a deeper appreciation for the rich traditions of these amazing countries.

Broadway Musicals

Campers work together to put on an amazing performance inspired by the greatest hits of Broadway! Led by the best instructors, this camp guides students through every step of the process—from auditioning and choreographing to rehearsing songs from their favorite musicals. It's one of the most exciting summer camps Austin, TX has to offer for kids who love to sing, dance, and perform! Campers build confidence while learning vocal technique, acting, and dance. To support every student's growth, groups are formed based on age and ability, then brought together at the end of each day to rehearse for the grand finale.
