All camp instruction is sponsored by an approved Leander ISD teacher. Please select your camps carefully as there are no refunds. Students will be exposed to and empowered by the entrepreneurship start-up process, by working in teams to utilize creative problem solving, communication, and collaboration to develop a product, pitch their idea, and “launch” their business. 21st century literacy and communication skills require practice and application opportunities, and writing camp helps all our young writers grow in their craft to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. During camp, students engage in each step of the writing process to produce a piece of writing on a topic and in a genre of choice. Along the way, students will analyze and emulate mentor texts, practice writing strategies and techniques, and benefit from feedback from multiple sources. Camp instructors will provide small group instruction and one-on-one conferencing to take writers to the next level by building skills relevant to their writing proficiency both inside and outside of school.
