Game Worlds camp gives kids ages 8-18 the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of game development! Whether they're independently experienced or brand new to STEM education, students will have a blast as they turn their passion for playing games into a love of building them. Working as a team, kids will learn both the artistic and technical aspects of game development, bond with friends, and build confidence as coders, artists, storytellers, and musicians. These week-long sessions last from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (9:00 pm on Friday), and include lunch, bonus lessons from professional devs, snacks, games, and more!
What Does Camp Include? Nearly 50 hours of learning, fun, creativity, and growth! Game Creation from start to finish – Students end the week with a completed game they've made themselves. Real-World Software – Students learn on the same tools used by professionals to create gameplay code, 2D characters, environmental art, UI functionality, animation, digital music, and sound effects. Guest Lectures – Professional game developers offer tutorials throughout the week, allowing curriculum to be tailored to both experienced game builders and enthusiastic newcomers. Skills continue to build week over week, and year over year! Friday Presentations and Game Competition – Guest developers serve as judges and offer real world feedback on a student-created business pitch and demo of their game. Prizes are awarded and parents are encouraged to attend! Friday Pizza Party – Celebrate a successful week with a Friday night pizza and gaming party that goes until 9:00 pm! All Equipment and Software Provided – Most tools are browser-based, so students can continue to work on their own projects outside of camp. Large Pickup and Drop Off Windows. Central Location. Lunch, Snacks, and Drinks Provided.
We have an excellent instructor-student ratio with 1 staffer for every 4 students, and our team based design process ensures that everyone's creative voice is heard. We provide valuable instruction to help students hone their existing talents, while also encouraging them to step outside their comfort zone.
