A week-long musical theatre camp combining dance, song, and performance for elementary-age kids. | Ballet Austin’s Pre-Ballet Classes in Austin for ages 6–7 provide the perfect bridge between our Young Children’s Division and the Elementary Division. Students build fundamental ballet skills while enhancing coordination, creativity, and musicality. Pre-Ballet 6 is open to children who have turned 6 by September 1, 2025. Pre-Ballet 7 is open to children who have turned 7 by September 1, 2025. Our Pre-Ballet Division classes are offered at two Austin locations. The curriculum, faculty, and dress code requirements are identical at all locations. This program is a prelude to formal ballet instruction and introduces children to music and movement through a structured progression that emphasizes creativity and group interaction. The Pre-Ballet syllabus is introduced at a time when fine and gross motor skills are becoming more refined. By introducing students to the basic shapes, positions, postures, and traditions of classical ballet, the Pre-Ballet curriculum enhances both cognitive and physical development at this important time. At the end of the School Year, Pre-Ballet students participate in the Academy Spring Presentation. | Become a Broadway Kid this June with Ballet Austin and a fun Musical Theatre Camp! Campers are grouped based on their age as of June 1, 2026 for an engaging and supportive experience. Campers will learn singing, dancing, and acting from experienced instructors. They will work as a team to put on a fantastic show for family & friends, culminating in a live performance on June 5, 2026. | Become a Broadway Kid this June with Ballet Austin and a fun Musical Theatre Camp! Campers are grouped based on their age as of June 1, 2026 for an engaging and supportive experience. Each day, the goal is to prepare an awesome and fun showcase for each family and friend coming to attend the “All Aboard for Broadway” Performance at the end of the week. Campers will begin and end each day all together in the Armstrong Connelly Studio. Here, they will learn choreography to an Opening Number for Friday’s Performance, as well as vocals and staging for the Finale. During the rest of the day, campers will rotate between two other studios to learn additional group numbers specific to their age group and have one snack time all together in between. The activities of the day will include the learning of two dance numbers, with one number of the two being taught vocally, arts and crafts, and plenty of fun collaborative theatre games. The end of the day will be dedicated to learning the closing number with everyone all together. | Professional-track ballet intensive for advanced older students with optional dorm housing. | The curriculum of the Pre-Ballet Division is designed to be a bridge between the content and feel of the Young Children’s Division and the more traditional classical ballet format of the Elementary Division. We introduce more ballet components as we progress from 6 to 7-year-old classes and gently prepare students for Level 1 when they begin the progressive syllabus of the Elementary Division.
